Industry-First Training Scholarships and Employment Program with MSS Security and Asset College
MSS Security has announced an industry first training initiative providing 500 Cert II training scholarships and employment for suitable people wishing to enter the security industry.
This unique opportunity will also enable MSS Security to expand its already highly successful indigenous and female participations programs with a minimum 30% of places held specifically for these two groups.
The security industry is experiencing unparalleled growth, and MSS Security has teamed with national security training provider, Asset College to announce this significant training to employment pathway, which will meet the growing need for new security professionals.
This unique program offers a pathway to employment with MSS Security, a leader in the provision of security services nationally. MSS Security provides a wide range of security services to all market segments with a footprint in every state and territory, and a workforce of nearly 7000.
MSS Security Managing Director, Geoff Alcock said that the company had taken this proactive approach to developing its future workforce to grow a quality pipeline of personnel across its diverse security portfolio.
“Many people are looking for a start to their careers or a change in their career path, and security is one of the great growth sectors,” Mr Alcock said.
“Being able to partner with Asset College for this initiative follows previous collaborations, which have resulted in many people starting their careers in security and going on to become a valuable part of MSS Security’s trained and trusted workforce.”
The partnership with Asset College, one of Australia’s leading security training providers, is known as the MSS Security Scholarship Program and will support up to 500 training places per year for suitable people seeking to join the growing security team at MSS Security.
Asset College is a proven leader in the delivery of nationally recognised training across all key aspects of security operations and security risk management. Asset College with its nation-wide coverage has been delivering training in every state and territory since 2006.
Asset College was awarded Large Training Provider of the Year (QLD) 2020 and has been nominated for this award in 2021.
The MSS Security Scholarship Program builds on natural synergies between two proactive leaders in the security industry and further cements a successful history of employment-focused engagement between MSS Security and Asset College.
“This is an industry first”, said Mike Addicott, Asset College General Manager Sales and Client Services.
“We are very excited to be supporting MSS Security to deliver a quality tailored program to support the company’s future operational needs”
The MSS Security Scholarship Program will run Australia-wide and support suitable individuals to complete the CPP20218 Certificate II in Security Operations or AVI20118 Certificate II in Transport Security Protection. Successful graduates will be on-boarded to the MSS Security Team whilst awaiting their Security Licence.
“MSS Security is serious about employing only the best candidates and this investment of over $1 million a year will provide new employment opportunities into the industry and importantly will support our diversity objectives, with a minimum of 5% of candidates to be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander background and 25% female candidates,” said MSS Security’s Managing Director Geoff Alcock.
“This initiative will widen our professional cohort through the provision of required training to those with non-traditional backgrounds and transferrable skills, and provide a long-term pipeline of quality-trained and job-ready candidates.”
The MSS Security Scholarship Program will be supplemented via opportunities for selected individuals to join the MSS Security Traineeship Program, including completion of the Certificate III in Security Operations, which supports licence-based qualifications and ensures a culture of continual learning.
