The Benefits of Not Completing Your RSA Online
The Benefits of NOT Completing Your RSA Online
It is mandatory for certain people involved in Queensland’s liquor industry to have a current responsible service of alcohol (RSA) certificate. There are many different types of people this applies to and it is imperative that you have the correct training on how to handle intoxicated persons and serve alcohol.
Completing your RSA online may mean that you are not getting that first-hand knowledge that those attending face to face training would get. There are large fines not only for venues but for you as an individual if you are found to be in breach of Liquor Licensing laws.
So why risk it by completing your RSA online?
Asset College delivers the RSA course at each of our office locations. This includes Townsville, Spring Hill, North Lakes, Logan and Gold Coast. The face to face component can be completed in a half-day workshop. You can book a spot online or simply call us on 1300 731 602.
While you might think that completing your RSA online is quicker, this may not always be the case. Some RSA online courses require that you have specific technology in order to access the course or certain programs. If you are someone who does not use a computer for work or very often, it’s unlikely that you will have access to these.
At Asset College, you can get rid of any technology worries at our face to face RSA courses! In most cases we can also issue you your certificate on the same day so long as all enrolment requirements are met.
If you’re actively seeking employment, attending face to face courses instead of completing your RSA online can always be a great way to network. At Asset College offices we regularly have multiple courses running at the same time so this opens up the opportunity for you to not only connect with people in your class, but those in other classes as well.
Don’t forget the benefits of a trainer-led face to face course. Trainers have so much knowledge to impart and this is best done through learning in the classroom for courses of this nature. You can ask questions straight away about the content of the course and the trainer can take you through anything you are not sure of with real practical examples.
The vocational education and training industry has in years gone by been infiltrated by unscrupulous providers who do not provide the appropriate quality of training. What tends to happen when these RTO’s are audited, some may be closed down by the regulator. There is a big risk in this happening when it comes to completing your RSA online.
Should this occur and for instance you have lost your certificate, there is no way to retrieve it which could delay your ability to apply for jobs or accept shifts at work. There is even the risk of having your certificate cancelled.
By attending through a provider who has been around for more than 14 years and delivers face to face training for RSA courses, the risk is little to none.
If you cannot remember which RTO you certified through, you will need to re-certify. Completing your training with Asset College, you will certainly remember who you completed your RSA certificate with!
