HLTAID014 Provide Advanced First Aid – Upgrade Day

**This course has online learning and assessment that must be completed prior to attending your face to face workshop.**

Are you good in an emergency? Do you have the ability to stay calm and assist where needed while directing others to do the same? Improve your emergency management skills with advanced first aid.

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to provide an advanced first aid response to a casualty in line with first aid guidelines determined by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and other Australian national peak clinical bodies.

The unit applies to all persons who may be required to provide an advanced first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.

On successful completion of this course, you will be awarded a Statement of Attainment for HLTAID014 Provide Advanced First Aid.

Asset College is a recognised educational partner of the Committee for Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (C-TECC).

Students must be physically capable of responding to first aid emergency scenarios, including providing CPR to a manikin on the floor. Anyone in a wheelchair or with other disabilities that may impact their participation in these activities should contact us to discuss their individual circumstances before enrolling.

You will need access to a computer with an internet connection to complete the online component of this course.

International students are accepted into this course.

Minimum age to attend ASSET’s first aid courses is 13.

You must provide us with a copy of your certificate for the following units:

  • HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
  • HLTAID011 Provide First Aid

These units must have been completed in the last 6 months. If your certificate does not list these unit codes, you will need to complete all units in the new Advanced First Aid.

Until all enrolment requirements are received your spot is still tentative and therefore if the course becomes full, your booking may be moved.

For Advanced First Aid upgrade day, you will complete 1 unit of competency:

HLTAID014 – Provide advanced first aid

Online + 2 hours in class

Completion of the online assessments prior to attending your face to face workshop is mandatory. Should you not complete your online assessments, you will not be permitted entry to the face to face course. You will need to rebook and this will incur a rebooking fee of $50.

You should allow up to 8 hours to complete the online learning and assessment.

Assessment Re-Submission Fees

Should you be deemed not competent after 2 attempts at a unit of competency, an assessment re-submission fee of $50 will apply per assessment.
