Unique Speed Dating Event Hits the Mark with ISS at Brisbane Airport

On the 20th of August, Asset College ran another of our successful Employer Connection ‘Speed Dating’ Events at the North Lakes Campus.

A key employer partner – ISS Facility Services – joined us at North Lakes to provide our graduates with a detailed overview of their aviation protection security portfolio and the roles and expectations of team members before moving into ‘speed dating’ mode.

The role of Aviation Protection Officer requires a special breed of individual given the state of the art technology used, high levels of concentration and attend to detail.

This complimentary post graduation service is unique to ASSET within the security sector and helps set our graduates up for a successful pathway to employment.

Following complimentary post graduation pre-employment coaching, graduates are invited to meet key employers offering a direct pathway to employment skipping the usual SEEK stage.

At our recent ISS Employer Connection event, we presented 18 pre-screened graduates for roles as Aviation Protection Officers at Brisbane Airport.

They each heard from key personnel at ISS including their General Manager People & Culture, Brisbane Airport People & Safety Manager and Senior Talent Coordinator.

Graduates then moved to a short face to face interview designed to fast track suitable candidates through the recruitment process.

From this initial event, we are excited that 14 (Over 77%) of graduates attending have been selected to progress through to employment with ISS ?

Of the four not offered roles, two were due to living too far from the airport and one was unable to commence until January 2022.

“We value our relationship with Asset College. The quality of their graduates is consistently high” said Jamee Nielsen-Chan, QLD Senior Talent Coordinator at ISS.

The successful candidates will now be invited to a day at Brisbane Airport where they will have a tour and a more in-depth information session before commencing the formal recruitment process.

Congratulations to these graduates.
