Rehabilitation Through Security
You will find many ex-military or aspiring Defence force candidates in our security classes!
Security can be a great stepping-stone for some experience in the workforce before applying for the armed forces or it can be a great way for ex-military to transfer to civilian careers.
Lyndon Fennell has a military background as well as dabbling in some labouring and retail work before deciding to contact Asset College. He had an injury meant he was not able to carry on with his usual duties so had to find a new role.
Lyndon had a strong customer service skill set and because of this his Injury Rehabilitation Consultant from Momentum 4 recommended he contact ASSET to chat about opportunities in the security industry.
Lyndon attended his CPP20218 Certificate II in Security Operations course with Lynn at our Spring Hill office.
“The training was excellent. Since attending the class I have recommended three other people through to ASSET. My trainer was Lynn Meecham and she really tells you how it is. I personally wouldn’t have had it any other way. She gave me the good, the bad and the ugly of the industry and really prepared me for what to expect out there on the job.”
After completing his training, Lyndon contacted Rebecca Cuneo who works on referring ASSET graduates across to our employer partners.
“Rebecca told me about a position with Infront Security. She put me forward immediately and then within an hour I had a phone call from their Operations Manager for an interview. The rest is history!”
At the time of writing this story, Lyndon had just completed his fourth shift with Infront!
Lyndon says to others who are considering a career in security that you just have to learn to respect people in general and that the security industry is about being there to help out people in the community.
