A Customer Service Role In Security – No Sales Involved!

Jamie Watt was looking for a new career.

He found that in Asset College when he was referred to us through his job network provider, Sarina Russo. 

Before moving into security Jamie had working both in IT and personal training but found it wasn’t quite for him. He considered a career in security because he liked the idea of customer service but not if there was any sales involved. Security has no sales!

“I also don’t like sitting down, so I liked the fact that I would be on my feet all the time. Every day in security is a bit of an adventure, there is always something new happening!”

Jamie attended our Spring Hill security course and found it extremely informative.

“I liked the practical part of the training and the trainers were fantastic. Lynn was my trainer and she was just great!”

On completion of his security training, Jamie participated in Asset College’s post training pre-screening for employment coaching.

“It was very interesting to learn all about the new infrastructure and inside information on what employment opportunities were out there. The resume information was very helpful. I got a great list of contacts provided to directly connect with employers”.

As a result of this, Jamie managed to secure a role with Tru Security.

“I am currently working weekends, it is great money on the weekends. I am getting a lot of experience in crowd control and I really enjoy it. I got to work at Sandstone Point Hotel for the Rock Festival. Getting paid to be at a rock show is pretty nice…..”

Jamie is really enjoying his experiences working in security and he is now looking to expand his skills further into other areas in the sector.
